SOCAMOTION™ LAUNCHES 2nd
FOR SUMMER 2011 WITH MORE FEATURES AND BIGGER PRIZES
New York, NY – SocaMotion Fitness and Wellness launches its 2nd SocaSLIMDOWN™ Weight Loss Challenge for Summer 2011 in time for upcoming Carnival festivals with more features, tasty recipes, healthy lifestyle features, and a Grand Prize vacation in Barbados. Registration for the SocaSLIMDOWN will continue until May 31 online and the competition will last from June to September ending in time for Labor Day Carnival 2011. The SocaSLIMDOWN™ still features natural, tasty Caribbean recipes and compliments fun SocaMotion fitness classes for a 360 degree Caribbean experience that promotes weight loss, better health and wellness. Now, registrants, also known as “SocaSlimmers,” can participate in meetings in-person and online, take part in more guest workshops, and vie for more prizes including the final prizes of $250 cash sponsored by Grace Foods International, a free Carnival costume from Borokeete USA, and a 5-night ocean-front vacation at the Rostrevor Hotel in Barbados.
Building on the success of the first SocaSLIMDOWN™ held from October 2010 to February 2011 just before Carnival in Trinidad, the 2nd SocaSLIMDOWN™ has been improved and tailor-made for people preparing for summer fashion and events like vacations, weddings, and upcoming global festivals including Crop Over, Caribana, and Miami Carnival. The Weight Loss Challenge still compliments SocaMotion fitness classes offered throughout New York that “turn your workout into a Carnival” with energetic Soca music mixed with dancehall, hip hop, zouk, etc. and incorporating dance moves and accessories such as flags and whistles. Now it has been enhanced by formal training from the experts of the Biggest Loser TV Show on NBC. The SocaSLIMDOWN™ features delicious, Caribbean food seen in the festivals that has been modified to produce weight loss results. Guest workshops will address long-term lifestyle habits, wellness topics, and event preparation. There are also more prizes such as an autographed cd from Caribbean chef and star of “Everyday Exotic” on the Cooking Channel, Roger Mooking; luxury bath products from The Sud Bar®; professional massage by Frances Elcock-Dunston of Fusion Therapy; and professional makeup and customization services from Suga Rush designs.
The program was developed to show how aspects of the Caribbean culture and lifestyle can promote natural weight loss and better health overall. Founder of both SocaMotion™ and the SocaSLIMDOWN™, Onya West, sought to improve on the original contest that capitalized on her diverse background in medicine, nutrition, public health, dance and fitness by incorporating training from the Biggest Loser TV Show as well as consultations with traditional and holistic nutritionists. Although the 2nd SocaSLIMDOWN™ is shorter than the original than 5-month program, it is a more concentrated program that takes advantage of more fitness activities available during the warmer months such as SocaSavannah outdoor walking fitness.
SocaSLIMDOWN™ Meetings will be held at 1128 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn and via online video conferencing starting on Saturday 5 June, 2011. SocaMotion classes are available in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Contest details and registration will be available online at www.socaslimdown.com or by contacting Onya West by phone at 347.560.9210 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org until May 31st. SocaSLIMDOWN™ 2 will last from June to September 2011 with updates provided online, the SocaSLIMDOWN™ Facebook page, and Twitter @SocaSLIMDOWN. SocaMotion™ and SocaSLIMDOWN™ are the intellectual property and copyright of Onya West and SocaMotion Fitness and Wellness.
